Integration of Ukraine into the European energy system

This integration contributes to improving energy security, the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency, and deepening energy cooperation with European countries.

The main aspects of Ukraine’s integration into the European energy system include:

  1. European Energy Union: Ukraine is an active participant in the European Energy Union, an initiative aimed at ensuring supply security, promoting energy efficiency, stimulating competition, and developing renewable energy. This contributes to harmonizing Ukraine’s energy legislation with European standards and norms.
  2. Energy Community: Ukraine is a member of the Eastern Europe Energy Community, which promotes the harmonization of regulatory frameworks and the development of the energy sector in line with European standards. This ensures the fulfillment of obligations related to energy sector reforms, increased energy efficiency, and market transparency.
  3. Infrastructure and Connectivity: Ukraine is actively working on the development of transit infrastructure to facilitate the transportation of energy to European countries. This includes enhancing interconnections, expanding transmission networks, and improving the overall energy infrastructure to enhance integration and cooperation within the European energy system.
