Conditions for connection to the Ukrainian energy system

Connection to the Ukrainian energy system requires compliance with certain conditions and procedures, including obtaining technical expertise (TEO) and technical conditions (TU).

Below is a general description of these conditions:

  1. Obtaining Technical Expertise (TEO): The first step in connecting to the Ukrainian energy system is obtaining TEO. This process involves contacting the transmission system operator (or distribution system operator in the case of connection to the distribution network) and submitting an application for TEO. Detailed information about the planned connection object, including capacity, operating mode, technical requirements, etc., needs to be provided.
  2. Development of Technical Conditions (TU): After obtaining TEO, it is necessary to develop a project of technical conditions (TU) for the connection of the object to the energy system. The project of TU is submitted to the transmission system operator (or distribution system operator), who verifies its compliance with technical requirements and standards.
  3. Conclusion of a Connection Agreement: After the project of TU is agreed upon with the transmission system operator (or distribution system operator), a connection agreement to the energy system is concluded. The agreement contains requirements and conditions that regulate the connection process, technical parameters, payments, and other aspects.
  4. Execution of Technical Works: After the connection agreement is concluded, it is necessary to carry out technical works for the construction or modernization of energy facilities.
